Terrorist Attack on TAI Leaves 5 Dead and 22 Injured

Interior Minister of Türkiye reported that 5 people were martyred and 22 people were injured in the terrorist attack on Kahramankazan campus of Turkish Aerospace Industries Corporation (TAI). The terrorist attack took place at 3.26 PM, and the police unit arrived at the place immediately.


Yerlikaya, Interior Minister of Türkiye, visited the citizens injured by the terrorist attack in Bilkent City Hospital. Making statements after the visit, Yerlikaya stated that 7 people who were wounded in the attack were in this hospital and said that they met with 4 of the wounded and that their conditions were good.

Yerlikaya thanked the doctors at Bilkent City Hospital for their diligent work and said, “Unfortunately, the number of martyrs has become 5. Our total number of wounded is 22. 7 of our wounded are hospitalized here, 1 patient has been discharged, 2 of them are about to be discharged, so the treatment processes of our 19 wounded continue in hospitals.”


Minister Yerlikaya continued as follows: “We have also heard the statements of our Minister of Defense. We have been saying from the beginning that the way this action took place, the images we have seen there are most likely to be the work of the PKK. This is our assessment, but we will share these with you again as soon as the identifications and other evidence become clearer.”


Martyrs of the terrorist attack include, the taxi driver of the terrorists Murat Arslan, woman killed when she went to the entrance of the campus to pick up flowers sent by her husband for their wedding anniversary Zahide Güçlü Ekici, technician Hasan Hüseyin Canbaz, Quality control officer at TAI Cengiz Coşkun and security guard at TAI Atakan Şahin Erdoğan.

Ankara Western Chief Public Prosecutor's Office launched an investigation against those who violated the confidentiality order regarding the attack on the Kahramankazan campus of the Turkish Aerospace Industries Corporation (TAI). Following the statement of Fahrettin Altun, Head of Communications, “We would like to remind once again that social media platforms should never allow content that prepares the ground for terrorist propaganda”, users could not access X (Twitter), Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok and Telegram on their phones.
